Owls Cruise Past Charlotte in Road Victory

CHARLOTTE - Temple women's lacrosse (11–4, 3–3 American) earned a dominant 16–3 victory over Charlotte (6–8, 1-4 American) Friday morning at Jerry Richardson Stadium. Amelia Wright led the Owls with four goals, recording her eighth hat trick of the season, while nine different players found the back of the net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Amelia Wright opened the scoring for Temple with a goal assisted by Jenna Facciolli. Charlotte responded with a goal from Sophia Rakis to tie the game at 1–1, but Laura Conner and Sarah Gowman answered with back-to-back goals to give the Owls a 3–1 lead.
Brooke Alessandrini cut into Temple's lead early in the second quarter, but Wright and Gowman each scored again to extend the advantage to 5–2. Lexi Culp added a goal off an assist from Conner to make it 6–2, and Wright completed her hat trick shortly after to push the lead to 7–2 at halftime.
Gowman opened the third quarter with her third goal of the game, and Facciolli followed with another to extend the lead to 9–2. Lily Caravela added an unassisted goal before Wright, Culp, and Kali Saito each found the back of the net to close the quarter with Temple ahead 13–2.
Culp completed her hat trick early in the fourth quarter, followed by a goal from Sabrina Martin to extend the lead to 15–2. Kathryn Harding added her third goal of the season, and Isa Torres scored late for Charlotte as Temple secured the 16–3 victory.

The Owls return to Howarth Field for their final home game of the season, hosting Drexel on Tuesday, April 21 at 3 p.m.
