Men's Crew to Take on City Rivals for Bergen Cup on Senior Day Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's crew team will square off against city rivals Drexel, La Salle, and Saint Joseph's for the Bergen Cup on the Schuylkill River Saturday.

The program will also recognize its eight seniors prior to racing: Gavin Anderson, Ryan Brady, Andrew Farkas, Stephen Gloyd, Vincent Hickman, Konstantin Kluge, Sebastian Rawson, and Lukas Wojciechowski. Senior Day ceremonies are scheduled to begin on the Temple Boathouse steps at 8:30 a.m., with racing set to start at 11:00 a.m.

Following the racing, a special ring ceremony for the 2025 Dad Vail champion varsity 8+ boat will be held on the Kelly Drive side of the Boathouse. Fans are encouraged to stick around for the celebration.

ABOUT THE OWLS

A trio of Temple boats enter the weekend with national rankings, led by the varsity eight who comes in ranked No. 18 in the latest IRA/IRCA Top 25 poll.
The Owls' three opponents on Saturday also check into the Top 25 rankings as follows: No. 16 Drexel, No. 21 La Salle, and No. 25 Saint Joseph's.
Temple's second varsity eight is tied for 20th nationally with Georgetown, and will battle No. 15 Drexel, No. 19 La Salle, and the Hawks in its Bergen Cup race.
The third varsity eight is also ranked 20th in the latest poll, with Drexel coming into the weekend ranked 17th in the country and La Salle ranked 19th.
The Owls will race out of Lane 2 for all races on Saturday, with La Salle in Lane 1, Drexel in Lane 3, and St. Joe's in Lane 4.
Following this weekend, Temple will have a week off before competing at Dad Vail Regatta on May 8-9 along the Cooper River.
