Temple Field Hockey Releases 2026 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University field hockey head coach Michelle Vittese announced the Owls' 2026 schedule on Thursday.
The challenging slate features five teams that appeared in the NCAA Tournament a season ago, along with eight home games at Howarth Field. Additionally, the Owls will host the 2026 BIG EAST Championship from Nov. 6-8.
Temple hosts American on Thursday, Aug. 20, and heads to University City to take on Drexel on Saturday, Aug. 22, in a pair of preseason exhibitions.
The Owls open the regular season with a four-game road swing, beginning with contests at James Madison on Aug. 28 and Maryland on Aug. 30. Temple opens September in Easton, Pa., against Lafayette on Sept. 4 before heading to Staten Island, N.Y., to face Wagner on Sept. 6.
The Cherry and White's home opener is set for Sept. 11 against Monmouth, beginning a stretch of four consecutive games at Howarth Field. The Owls close the weekend against Rider on Sept. 13 before opening the BIG EAST slate in North Philadelphia against Georgetown on Sept. 18. The home swing concludes against Hofstra on Sept. 20.
Temple will make a quick trip to Villanova on Sept. 25.
The Owls welcome Delaware to Howarth Field in their first October game on Oct. 2. Temple will then take on three consecutive NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago, facing NCAA runner-up Princeton on Oct. 4, UConn on Oct. 9 and Yale on Oct. 11.
The Owls return home to face Old Dominion on Oct. 16 and host New Hampshire for Senior Day on Oct. 15.
Temple will look to knock off defending BIG EAST champion Liberty in Lynchburg, Va., on Oct. 23. The Owls forced a shootout against the No. 7 Flames in 2025.
The regular season concludes with the BIG EAST finale at Howarth Field against Providence on Oct. 30 before Temple heads to University City to battle Penn on Nov. 1.
The BIG EAST Championship returns to Howarth Field for the first time since 2023 from Nov. 6-8.
Vittese enters her sixth season as head coach of Temple in 2026, holding a 56-39 overall record.
