HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first race of the morning, the frosh/novice four featuring coxswain Nathan Curran and oarsmen Jack Foltz, Ben Sheppard, Noah Coomes and Yekta Dikmen, crossed the finish line in 6:55.410.
- The time was nearly three seconds in front of second-place San Diego, with Drexel finishing third nearly five seconds off the pace.
- Earning silver for the Owls was the duo of Andrew Farkas and Joe Sayer, who held off a charge from a William & Mary boat to take home bronze in the varsity double event.
- In the second varsity eight grand final, Temple took home a silver medal for its second-place showing, defeating city rival La Salle and west coast foe Santa Clara.
- In one of the most competitive races of the day, the men's varsity eight went back and forth with Drexel in search of its second straight O'Brien-Hanna Trophy.
- In the end, the Dragons nipped the Owls by just over a second but Temple was able to secure one of four automatic qualifying bids into IRA National Championships.
