PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer heads to Washington, D.C., to take on George Washington in the 2026 season opener, with key returners Maddie Ward, Valentina Bitterwolf and Shari Atkins joined by newcomers Amaya Hill, Jenna Daveler and Giovanna Echavarria. Ward, Hill and Echavarria were each named to the 2026 American Conference Preseason Watchlist.

Temple returns 17 players from last season, including key contributors Maddie Ward, Valentina Bitterwolf and Shari Atkins.
Maddie Ward was named to the 2026 American Conference Preseason Watchlist after starting all 19 matches as a freshman in 2025. She logged more than 1,600 minutes and scored three goals.
Valentina Bitterwolf earned American Conference Third-Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team honors after leading the Owls with four goals and six assists.
Shari Atkins was named to the 2025 American Conference Preseason Watchlist and recorded two goals and four assists, finishing second on the team in assists.

New to TSC

Temple welcomes 14 newcomers to the 2026 squad, adding a mix of transfers and highly decorated young talent.
Amaya Hill joins the Owls from Manhattan and was named to the 2026 American Conference Preseason Watchlist after a standout 2025 season. She tied the program's single-season record with 12 assists, leading the MAAC and ranking second nationally.
Giovanna Echavarria was named to the 2026 American Conference Preseason Watchlist after a decorated high school career. She was named Union County Player of the Year as a senior and earned First Team All-Union County and All-Watchung Division honors.
Jenna Daveler joins Temple after competing at Cincinnati and Old Dominion. She brings significant collegiate experience, appearing in 42 matches with 34 starts across her career at Old Dominion and earning multiple All-League, All-Region and All-State honors.
