Weekend Guide: Princeton, UMBC

PHILADELPHIA- Temple Volleyball will play back to back games this weekend as they enter week 4 of competition. First, they will travel to Princeton to play the tigers in Dillon Stadium, that match will take place Friday 9/18 at 5p.m. Next, they will host UMBC at McGonigle Hall for their first home game since the start of the season. That match will take place Saturday the 19th at 4 p.m.
News In The Nest:
- Last time out, Olivia Hummel recorded a career high 20 kills in a match. The senior from Cary North Carolina is having a stellar season leading the team over all with 99 kills and 115 points, she is averaging 3.00 kills per set.
- Christiana Greene made her presence felt last weekend as she hit a season high 17 points and finished with an efficient hitting percentage at .333.
- One of the most consistent players this season is setter Lexi Yoza, who continues to make waves in the assist department. She is coming of a season high 47 assists, and leads the team with 280 on the season.
Scouting Princeton:
Princeton picked up their first two wins this past weekend, and enter the game with a 2-4 record. Offensively they look to Ashtyn Sims who leads the team in kills with 60 and Sydney Draper who leads the team in Assists at 201. On defense, Sydney Bold leads the way in Digs with 67, and Jackie Onyechi leads the team in blocks with 24.
All-Time vs Princeton:
Princeton is currently leads the series 8-6, having last played in 2023 where Temple won 3-2.
Scouting UMBC:
UMBC will enter McGonigle Hall coming off a win last week against Georgetown and an overall record of 4-3. Offensively, Hannah Dobbs leads the team in kills with 102, and Isabel Ostvig leads the team in assists with 258. Defensively, they will look to Hannah Howard to leads the team with 130 digs, and Alissa Grant who leads with 38 blocks.
All-Time vs UMBC:
The Owls currently lead the series at 4-1, having most recent played in 2019 where they won the match 3-0.
