Salim Powell joined the Temple Football staff in January 2020, as an analyst following three seasons as a scouting assistant with the New York Jets.
Powell graduated from Southeast Missouri State in 2010 and obtained his masters in higher education in 2014. After undergrad, he began working at his alma mater with the defensive line and special teams. He then transitioned to overseeing the wide receivers for three years before becoming the cornerbacks coach in 2016. He spent his sixth and final season at Southeast Missouri State as the cornerbacks coach.
Powell played cornerback at Southeast Missouri State. He had 98 tackles and two interceptions in 33 starts and 44 games played. The Willingboro, N.J., native started his football career playing running back and defensive back at Willingboro High.
