Sean McKenna joined Temple's staff for the 2016-17 season. He is responsible for the oversight of the lightweight team, mainly training and recruiting.
Before returning to the Owls, McKenna coached at nearby Villanova University. With the Wildcats, he first served as an assistant coach, before being promoted to the head position in 2014.
McKenna earned his undergraduate degree in Communications from Temple, where he transferred into the Owls' program as a senior in 2012. During his senior year, he represented Temple and the United States at the 2012 World Championship where he finished 10th.
McKenna has raced for the majority of clubs along Boathouse Row and also in Boston. He helped the Pennsylvania Athletic Club to a Club National Championship Title in 2011 winning multiple events.
