Miller is a Philadelphia area native, growing up less than 15 miles from Temple main campus. While attending Wissahickon Senior High School in Ambler, Pa., he competed for the cross country and track & field teams in every season. Highlighting Miller’s senior year were state medals in both cross country and track. He was awarded Second Team All-State honors by leading-off the Trojans' distance medley relay team to a silver medal at the Indoor Track State Championships.
Miller continued his running career by competing for the Pitt Panthers as part of the cross country and track teams at the University of Pittsburgh. He qualified two consecutive years in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter events at the Outdoor Track & Field Big East Championships and IC4A Championships. Miller received the Blue Club Award for academic excellence among student-athletes during his time at Pitt.
Miller graduated with a degree in business administration from Pitt in the spring of 2011 and was selected to the Early Career Development Program as an Analyst for Aon Corporation, a global risk management and insurance company. After two years, he accepted an offer from Conner Strong & Buckelew, a New Jersey based private consulting firm, to be an Associate Consultant within the firm’s Health & Benefits practice. Miller works extensively in recruiting prospective clients and developing budgets for corporate and non-profit clients.
This past summer, Miller became a Certified Coach with the Road Runners Club of America. He is currently working toward his Track & Field Technical Certification with the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
