James Spinelli recently completed his fourth year as the Video Coordinator for the Temple women’s basketball program, and his eighth year working with the team.
Part of his responsibilities include oversight of all game and scout film exchange, editing assistance, recruiting and coordinating male practice players, providing analytical and visual outlets for the Owls via game film, and creating highlight and hype videos for the current team as well as players looking to play professionally.
Additionally, Spinelli was charged with helping to grow the Temple women’s basketball brand through internal creative services. In this role, he pioneers all creative projects done internally for recruiting, including video work for recruiting visits, as well as the team’s recruiting mailing system. He creates graphics and highlight clips for the newly created @TUWBBRecruiting account and develops a newsletter for alums.
Spinelli spent four years working with the program as an undergraduate in a variety of roles. He signed on with the Owls as a freshman in 2010 and worked his way up to a head manager position. As a junior, Spinelli extended his scope with an internship under Stacey Nasser, former Temple’s Director of Women’s Basketball Operations.
As a senior, Spinelli assisted the Video Coordinator, while also maintaining his position as head manager. He was hired full-time in his current position at the conclusion of his senior year.
Spinelli, a Long Hill, N.J. native, earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management at Temple in 2014.
