Sianni Martin, who returns to her native Philadelphia after a professional playing career overseas, was named graduate assistant of the Temple women’s basketball team by Head Coach Diane Richardson in September of 2022. Martin brings an impressive playing background to the Owls.
 
After a successful collegiate career at UCF and Towson, Martin dominated playing professionally overseas. During the 2021-22 season, Martin played in Iceland for SNAEFELL. She led the league and the nation with 35.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. Martin was named First Team All-Icelandic Division I at the conclusion of the season.
 
During the 2020-21 campaign, Martin suited up for professional outfit Basquete Clube De Barcelos of Portuguese Division 2A. While playing for Barcelos, Martin led her team in both points per game (25) and assists per game. She also picked up 5.3 rebounds per contest. Martin led Barcelos to the National 2A Division title.

She played at UCF during the 2018-19 and 19-20 seasons. Over the course of her two seasons in Orlando, Martin appeared in 42 games, starting 5. In her senior season, the Philly native was third in both points (9.1) and assists (1.3) per game. She tallied 15 double-digits performances including a season-high 22 points against No. 11 UCLA. Her 83.3 three-point field goal percentage against Pitt ranks third all-time on the UCF single game record book.

Prior to her time in Orlando, Martin starred as a member of the Towson Tigers. She played in 58 games, starting 42. During her time in Maryland, Martin scored 693 points. She was second on the team and sixth in the CAA in points per game her sophomore year (14.1). Martin finished third on the team averaging 10 points per game as a freshman en route to winning CAA Rookie of the Week three times.

A Neumann Goretti High School alum, while attending Martin helped Neumann win the Catholic League, Philadelphia City League, and State championship her senior year. The Saints finished ranked number one in the nation as well during her senior year.

She is the daughter of Micah Waters and Nutina Martin.
