Natalie Carlone, a 2014 graduate at the University of Connecticut, joined the staff in the 2014-2015 school year as a Volunteer Assistant Coach.

While at UConn, Natalie competed in the varsity 8 category for part of her sophomore year as seven seat. She was stroke of the varsity 8 her junior and senior years. She earned a fifth place medal at Head of the Charles Regatta Club 4+ event in 2012. In 2014 she was stroke of the varsity 8 that placed third in the American Athletic Conference Championships and was nominated for the All-American Athletic Conference Second team.

She was a three year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, as representative (2011-2012), Community Outreach Coordinator (2012-2013), and President (2013-2014). She served as the female representative for the University at the NCAA Leadership forum in Providence, Rhode Island in Fall 2013. In March 2014, she was awarded the NCAA “Volunteer of the Year” Award during the 2014 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four tournament presented to an influential community member at each of the twenty preliminary sites for the NCAA tournament.

She served as team co-captain during her junior and senior year. Upon graduation, she and the other members of the senior class were awarded the Coaches Award 2014. She was also chosen by her teammates as the recipient for the Husky Award for leadership, friendship, and dedication. She has assisted Mount St. Joseph during learn-to row programs since her rowing career began. In addition, from June to August 2013, she was a Rowing Coach at Riverfront Recapture, Inc, for high school student’s novice camp in Hartford, Connecticut.

Prior to UConn, Natalie rowed at Mount Saint Joseph academy in Flourtown, PA for four years. She won gold at Stotesbury Cup Regatta in the second varsity (2008, 2010) and the junior varsity (2009). She was also a co-captain during her senior year.

She has her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and English. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Social Work at Temple University.
