Brian Hartley

Brian Hartley, who was an All-Big East selection in the shot put while at Connecticut, is in his second season as a graduate assistant track and field coach. As a team captain during his senior year in 2002, Hartley led the Huskies to the Big East Indoor and Outdoor Championships. He will coach the throwers for head coach Stefanie Scalessa.
Following graduation from UConn in 2002 with a degree in finance, Hartley earned a second bachelor's degree from Eastern Connecticut State in physical education. The Norwalk, Conn. native has been involved as a high school assistant coach for two years at E.O. Smith (Winter 2003), Tolland (Winter 2004), and Windham High Schools (Spring 2003-04). While at Windham, he helped lead the team to its first conference championship in ten years.
Hartley has USATF Level I certification and is pursuing his CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is the co-founder and vice president of CONQUEST Semi-Professional Track Club.
He is currently pursuing a master's degree in exercise science.
