High School: Was a member of the 4x800 squad at Fairfield Ludlowe high school that earned All-New England honors her senior year...Named first team All-FCIAC in the 1600m as a senior and later qualified for New Balance Nationals in the 4x800...Was named cross country MVP after captaining her team to their best record ever, qualifying for the State Open meet, placing second at FCIAC outdoor and finishing third indoor...Was awarded the Sportsmanship Award in XC her junior year after being named captain for the indoor and outdoor seasons...Named XC and T&F MVP as a sophomore, later traveling to Outdoor Nationals for the DMR...Named MVP for XC as a freshman and most improved runner for the outdoor season.
Personal: Parents are Kristin Leahy and Kurt Simonsen...Boasts a handful of academic accolades, including National Honors Society, Spanish, English, History, and Science National Honors Society, Graduated in the top 10 percent of her class with a 4.3 weighted GPA, and earned the Environmental Science Award...Plans to major in Political Science at Temple.
