Volleyball Defeats Rutgers, 3-1

New Brunswick, NJ (October 19) -- Temple's Alma Kovaci had 22 kills and 26 digs to lead the Owls (14-4) to a 3-1 victory over Rutgers University (10-11) in women's volleyball action this evening on the campus of the New Jersey school.
With the 15-10, 15-17, 15-5, 15-3, victory over the Scarlet Knights, Temple has extended their season best winning streak to eight. Over that span the Owls have won 24 games while only dropping four gamse. Moreover, they have outscored their opponents during that streak by 153 points.
Also contributing in the win for Temple was Maria Vutskova and Karla Jones who each had 13 and 11 kills respectively.
For Rutgers, Senior Lola Opadiran (Brampton, Ont./Heartlake) had 17 kills and 14 digs while, Cheri Drake (Cortland, NY/Cortland) had 12 kills and 13 digs in the losing effort
Rutgers returns to action Friday, October 22, when they travel to Boston College and take on the Eagles at 8:00 PM.
