6.11.26 | Women's Volleyball
PHILADELPHIA – Temple Volleyball head coach Linda Hampton Keith announced the hiring of assistant coach Susan Kim on Thursday afternoon.
Kim comes to Broad and Cecil with over 20 years of coaching and player-development experience spanning NCAA Division I, Division II, club, and high school programs.
"We are thrilled to welcome Susan Kim to Temple Volleyball and feel incredibly fortunate to add someone with her level of experience, leadership, and perspective to our staff. As a former Division I head coach with an extensive background across both collegiate and club volleyball, Susan brings a wealth of knowledge that will immediately add value to the experience of our student-athletes and strengthen our program. Throughout the search process, we were intentional about identifying someone who not only possessed a high level of volleyball expertise, but someone who aligned with the culture, values, and developmental environment we continue to build at Temple. Susan stood out in each of those areas. Additionally, her ties to the region and familiarity with the volleyball landscape in our area make this an especially meaningful addition to our staff. We are excited to welcome Susan back home and look forward to the impact she will have on our program and the continued growth of Temple Volleyball," said Hampton-Keith on the hire.
Most recently in the collegiate ranks, Kim served as the Women's Volleyball Head Coach at Le Moyne College (Division I), guiding the program during its transition to Division I as a member of the Northeast Conference. She managed all facets of the program—including operational budgets, training designs, and opponent scouting.
Prior to Le Moyne, Kim enjoyed a highly successful tenure as the associate head coach at Rider University. She helped guide the Broncs to the 2020 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance, while assisting the 2020 MAAC Coach of the Year. Her time at Rider was marked by exceptional player development, mentoring an AVCA All-American, a Conference Player of the Year, a Setter of the Year, and a Rookie of the Year. Kim also spent time as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Georgetown University, where she navigated the program's post-pandemic return to in-person play, spearheaded high-academic recruiting, and managed technical training.
Kim's extensive collegiate background also includes six seasons as an assistant coach at Holy Family University (Division II) , where she helped direct the team to a historic 2018 Sweet Sixteen appearance and coached multiple All-Americans and Regional Players of the Year. In recognition of this historic run, she and the 2018 Holy Family volleyball team were recently inducted into the Holy Family University Hall of Fame. Additionally, she served as an assistant and interim head coach at La Salle University. Across all of her collegiate stops, Kim has been highly regarded for fostering elite academic environments, consistently guiding her teams to top-tier program rankings recognized by the AVCA for academic excellence.
"I am thrilled to return to Temple in this new role as Assistant Volleyball Coach, marking a wonderful full-circle moment for me. Having experienced the university as a student, a faculty member, and now as a member of the coaching staff, my sense of Owl pride runs deeper than ever. Thank you, Linda, for this incredible opportunity to join the staff and be a part of this program. I am incredibly excited to join Temple Volleyball on this journey and contribute to the program's ongoing commitment to excellence," said Kim.
At the youth and prep levels, Kim is the Founder, former Director, and head coach of the Infinity Volleyball Academy, where she grew the youth program to supervise over 30 coaches and 150 players annually. Her high school head coaching career includes leading Council Rock North High School boys' volleyball to an undefeated league record and a District 1 AAA Championship, as well as capturing multiple Coach of the Year honors and Philadelphia Catholic League titles at Archbishop Wood High School.
Beyond the court, Kim has taught as an Adjunct Instructor at Temple University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Systems with a minor in Economics from Bloomsburg University, where she also played four years for the women's volleyball club team.
Kim and the Owls begin the 2026 campaign with a home tournament starting on Friday, August 28 against Manhattan University.
