Walker and Murawski Named Second Team Regional All-Americans

Philadelphia (November 17) -- Temple University field hockey players Michelle Murawski

and Heather Walker were named 1999 second team AstroTurf/NFHCA Division

I MidAtlantic Region All-Americans by the National Field Hockey Coaches

Michelle Murawski

Murawski, a senior forward for the Owls, started and played in all 20

games this season. She scored the game-winner against Rhode Island and

was instrumental in running Temple's offense. The Philadelphia native

(Little Flower HS) was a first team MidAtlantic Region All-American last

season and will return for her final season.

Walker was primarily a defender in the 20 games she started, but the

senior also went on the attack to score two goals and assist on three

others. The Lancaster, Pa. (Lancaster-Lebanon)- product was fourth in

points this season to complete her Temple career. Walker was a second

team MidAtlantic Regional All-American last season as well.

Heather Walker

The Owls under Head Coach Lauren Fuchs finished with a 7-13 record. The

team returned to the Atlantic 10 Tournament after finishing second in

the Conference at 4-1.
