Volleyball Wraps Up Weekend With Two Conference Wins

Philadelphia, Pa. (November 2) -- Junior Alma Kovaci (Tirane, Albania) had a record 38 kills to lead Temple past conference foe George Washington,
3-0, this past weekend in Temple volleyball. The Owls also beat Virginia Tech 3-0 on Friday in McGonigle Hall.
Temple improved their overall record to 16-4 and their conference record to 10-1. On Friday, junior Maria Vutskova led the Owls
with 15 kills and 14 digs with a .406 hitting percentage. Kovaci also added 9 kills and 13 digs to help led the Owls to a three game
sweep against the Hokies (15-10, 15-5, 15-4).
Saturday, Kovaci had an outstanding performance and dominated the court with 38 kills and 20 digs. She is now in NCAA history,
just second to Catalina Suarez (UMKC vs. Northwest Mo. St) with 40 kills in a three game match. The Owls also beat the Colonials
15-8, 16-14, 15-12.
This weekend Temple will travel to Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio. On Friday, Nov. 5, Temple will face off against Xavier at 7:30 p.m.
at the Schmidt Fieldhouse and will play against Dayton on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fredericks Center.
