Pairings Set For 1999 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship

PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 24) -- The Atlantic 10 will crown
the last of its fall
champions this weekend during the 18th annual Bell Atlantic
Atlantic 10
Volleyball Championship at Temple University's McGonigle Hall in
Philadelphia, PA.
Action gets underway Friday, November 26 with top-seeded Temple (16-2)
facing No. 4 seed George Washington (11-7) in the first semifinal match at
2:00 pm. Temple is looking to claim its third straight Atlantic 10 title
while George Washington is looking to win its fourth championship.
The second match on Friday's twinbill pits No. 2 Rhode Island (13-5) against
third-seeded Xavier (13-5) at 4:30 pm. Rhode Island and Xavier tied in the
regular season but the Rams claimed the higher seed by defeating the
Musketeers head-to-head on September 18 (3-0) and October 23 (3-2).
The Atlantic 10 title match is scheduled for Saturday, November 27
at 2:00 pm.
