Beecher Finishes First In Temple Open In Fencing

Philadelphia, Pa. (November 9) -- Junior Jaime Beecher landed first place in women's foil at the 20th annual Temple Fencing Open on Saturday, Nov.
5. The annual event included over 20 teams including national powers Penn State, Cornell and the University of North Carolina. Beecher
took home the win after defeating Penn State's Colleen
Hicks. Sophomore Stefanie Izzolino also finished in sixth place.
In epee, Julia Korony tied for third place along with Cornell's Siobhan Cully. Junior Erica Wilder just missed the final rounds finishing
in ninth place with junior Marta Knight finishing 12th.
In sabre, sophomore Sara Ironman finished 23rd, junior Stacy Weeks finished 36th while junior Lisa Winegeard finished 39th
and Nicole Macomber finished 47th.
The Owls will compete in the Penn State Open on Saturday, Nov. 20 at Penn State beginning at 8:00 a.m.
