Kovaci Named To The 1999 AVCA All-District Team

Philadelphia, Pa. (December 8) -- Junior Alma Kovaci was named to the 1999 AVCA All-District Team. This is the outside hitter's second citation on the All-District team. As a member of the Owls she has led the team to three-straight Atlantic 10 Tournament Championships and was named the 1999 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year.
During the regular season, Kovaci set the NCAA record for the second highest number of kills in a three-game match registering 38 kills against George Washington. She is currently ranked #14 in the country in kills (5.20 per game) and #10 in digs (4.45 per game). In addition, the Tirane Albania native has also been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team, the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament team, the Atlantic 10 Tournament MVP and a five-time Altantic 10 Player of the Week.
