Moore and Kerrigan receive baseball honors

Moore, a senior from Hatboro, Pa., leads the Atlantic 10 with a 2.38 earned run average after posting a 5-5 record during the regular season. Aside from starting and completing nine games this year, Moore has been used in relief on 13 occasions where he has an Atlantic 10-best eight saves. His 96 strikeouts is tops in the conference. When not pitching, Moore is the Owls' starting catcher. He is currently batting .286 with three home runs and 40 RBIs. Kerrigan, a senior from Garrett Hill, Pa., is Temple's top hitter with a .391 batting average. He also leads the Owls' in hits (77), doubles (14), RBIs (43) and slugging percentage (.503). His 60 singles this season broke the Temple record of 56 set by George Clark in 1985. This is the first time either player was named to the All-Conference team. The Owls under head coach Skip Wilson, finished the regular season 28-26-1 and placed second in the conference's East Division. Temple will face Virginia Tech in the first round of the Bell Atlantic Atlantic 10 Baseball Championships today in Boyertown, Pa. at 4:05 p.m.
