Matt Hockenberry Named Under Armour Athlete of the Month for May

PHILADELPHIA— Senior pitcher Matt Hockenberry has been named the Under Armour OwlSports.com Athlete of the Month for May.
Matt Hockenberry had a 1-2 record with a 1.86 ERA in four games in the month of May. Hockenberry had a 27-7 strikeout-walk ratio with only six earned runs allowed in 29 innings pitched. He also didn't have a single wild pitch in this span. He pitched a complete game to No. 5 Louisville, striking out 10 batters with three walks and two runs. He led the team to an upset victory over No. 16 Houston with zero earned runs, four strikeouts, and only three hits allowed in six innings pitched. In the senior's final collegiate game he threw a complete game against No. 16 Houston in the American Athletic Conference Tournament. He fanned six batters with only two walks and zero earned runs.
In May Hockenberry earned Philadelphia Big 5 Pitcher of the Week honors twice and was named All-Big 5.
