Dayton Sweeps Volleyball as Owls Drop Second Straight
10.28.00 | Women's Volleyball
Dayton, Ohio - The match record for the Temple volleyball team now stands at 13-8, 9-2 in the Atlantic 10 after the Owls lost their match at Dayton three games to none. The game scores were 13-15, 12-15 and 10-15 as Temple lost its second straight conference match in as many nights after entering the weekend undefeated in Atlantic 10 play.
The Owls were led by senior All-America candidate and reigning Atlantic 10 player of the year, Alma Kovaci, who boomed 16 kills and 13 digs. Senior Brandy Best (11 kills, two digs) was the only other Owl to post double figure kill numbers. Sophomore Solana Lee saw the bulk of the action at setter and dished out 34 assists for a Temple team that clearly did not enjoy its visit to Ohio.
Dayton was led by Genoa Moxley with 15 kills and five digs. The Owls hope their next visit to Dayton is far more fruitful when they return next month to defend their Atlantic 10 title. Next up for Temple is a home match against George Washington (October 31 at 7:00 p.m.) at McGonigle Hall.
