Alma Kovaci And Margaret Majewska Earn Atlantic Honors

PHILADELPHIA - For the third time this season, Alma Kovaci was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week in Volleyball. This time Kovaci shared the honor with George Washington's Tracee Brown. Freshman Margaret Majewska was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week as the Owls ran off three straight victories in the conference.
Kovaci continued her outstanding play as she averaged 5.5 kills, 3.5 digs to go with five aces in the team's victories over Fordham, La Salle and George Washington. Kovaci was dominant in the victory over George Washington (3-2) posting 32 kills and 18 digs to go with 4 aces. She leads the Atlantic 10 with an average of 5.65 kills per game. Majewska earned her first Rookie of the Week honor averaging 2.6 kills and 1.8 digs over the past week. She posted double figures in kills back-to-back matches with 14 against George Washington and 10 versus LaSalle.
The Owls will host Georgetown (Wednesday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m.) then face Rhode Island (Friday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m.) and finish off their home schedule with UMass (Saturday, November 11 at 4:00 p.m.)
