Fencing Named NIWFA Champions

Philadelphia, Pa.-- Temple Fencing won the 2000 NIWFA Championship this past weekend in Madison N.J. For each individual squad,
the sabre team landed a seventh place finish, epee finished first and the foil squad finished first.
Junior Jaime Beecher finished second in the foil competition while sophomore Stefanie Izzolino finished third. In Epee, sophomore
Julia Korony was named the 2000 Epee champion while senior Erica Wilder finished seventh. In sabre, sophomore Sara Ironman took
home a third place finish. Beecher, Izzolino, Korony and Ironman were all named to the NIWFA All-Conference team.
The Owls will compete this weekend in the NCAA Regional Tournament at Penn State in University Park, Pa. at 8:00 a.m.
