4.5.00 | Baseball
The Temple baseball team beat Lehigh, 10-6, on April 4 in the semifinals of the Liberty Bell Classic at Veterans Stadium. The Owls won the game in come-from-behind fashion by scoring six runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 10-6 lead.
Junior Jeff Rugg pitched 4.1 solid innings in relief to help close the door on the Mountain Hawks. Offensively, the Owls were led by leftfielder Chris Krusen who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Fellow outfielder Joe Lyall also chipped in with three RBIs. The Owls will face the winner of the St. Joseph's/Delaware game in the finals on either Wednesday or Thursday night at the Vet.
