Three Owls Named To Atlantic 10 All-Conference Baseball Team

Philadelphia (May 18) Temple baseball players Robert Cucinotta, Jim Tully and
Kyle Sweppenhiser were named to the Atlantic 10 Baseball All-Conference
Team in voting conducted among the Conference's head coaches.
Cucinotta, the Owls' first baseman, was named to the all-conference
first team. A sophomore, Cucinotta finished the season batting .379 with
nine home runs and 43 RBIs. He led the Owls in batting average (.379),
hits (66), home runs (9) and total bases (106). Cucinotta is a native of
Drexel Hill, Pa. and is a 1998 graduate of Monsignor Bonner.
Tully, the Owls' second baseman, was named to the all-conference second
team. A sophomore, Tully hit .320 and led the team in doubles (14),
triples (4) and stolen bases (13). Tully, a high school teammate of
Cucinotta, is a native of Drexel Hill, Pa. and is a 1998 graduate of
Monsignor Bonner.
Sweppenhiser, the Owls' designated hitter, was also named to the
all-conference second team. A junior, Sweppenhiser had a career-year for
the Owls. He hit .327 with 10 doubles, three triples, two home runs and
35 RBIs, all career-highs. Sweppenhiser is a native of Herndon, Pa. and
is a 1997 graduate of Line Mountain High School.
