Men's Track Team Finished Sixth at Atlantic 10 Championships

Blacksburg, Va. (May 6-7) - Temple men's track team finished sixth this past
weekend at the Atlantic 10 Championships at Virginia Tech.
In the 100 meter dash, Errol Thurton and Kamal Tucker had impressive finishes.
Thurton finished first (10.63) and Tucker finished fifth (11.12). Tracey
Champion placed fourth in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 15.07.
Thurton finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.20. Shawn
Wilson placed ninth (22.50) and Otis Cheek finished eleventh (22.61). Wilson
also finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 47.73. Andre Turner
placed fifth (48.07) and Cheek eighteenth (51.43).
Daniel Stevens ran to a fifth place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of
1:51.85. In the long jump, William Springfield finished ninth with a mark of
5.93m 19'05.50. Springfield also placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark
of 12.38m 41'03.25.
In the 4*100 meter relay, the Owls finished second with a time of 41.43.
Temple also placed second in the 4*400 meter relay with a time of 3:13.13.
