Temple Volleyball Opens Season by Hosting Temple Tournament

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Volleyball team opens the 2000 regular season this weekend by hosting the Temple Tournament at McGonigle Hall. Play begins on Friday, September 1st at 11:00 a.m. (Temple vs. Colgate) and concludes on Saturday September 2nd at 5:30 (Temple vs. Ohio State). Temple is the three-time defending Atlantic 10 Conference champion and the Atlantic 10 coaches' pre-season pick to capture a fourth straight conference crown. Perennial Big Ten powerhouse Ohio State should prove to be a stern early season test for a Temple team that sports six newcomers and nine returnees. Following the Temple Tournament, the Owls play eight straight matches away from the nest, including the USC MetRx Invitational before returning home at the end of September.
