Temple Volleyball Ends First Leg Of Western Road Trip With A Loss At No. 9 Pepperdine

Malibu, Calif. - Temple dropped it's match record to 3-4 on the season with a loss last night to ninth ranked Pepperdine, three games to one. Playing their fourth match in three days against the country's top competition, the Owls showed that they have no problem battling the best.

Temple lost game one 15-11 and game two 15-7 before coming back to win game three 15-12. The fourth and final game saw the Owls fall 15-6. Senior All-America candidate Alma Kovaci, continues to live up to lofty preseason expectations as she led Temple with 16 kills.

Senior Brandy Best was also superlative with 13 kills and freshman Yamit Haba added 12 kills to the Owls' attack.

The undefeated waves of Pepperdine were led by Jennifer Fopma (11 kills) and Melissa Snow (10 kills). Temple heads back west this coming weekend as the Owls take on Utah (Friday, September 15th) and 17th ranked BYU (Saturday, September 16th).
