Volleyball Knocks Off Duquesne to End Road Trip

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Temple volleyball team raised its match record to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference by winning at Duquesne, three games to none. The game scores, were 15-8, 15-13 and 15-13 for the three-time defending Atlantic 10 champions to raise the Owls' record over the Dukes to a perfect 22-0.
The Temple attack was led once again by senior Alma Kovaci, the reigning Atlantic 10 player of the year with a match leading 17 kills and 18 digs. The win marks the end of an eight-match road stretch that saw the Owls face five nationally ranked teams away from the nest and two of the hottest teams in their conference.
Duquesne was led by Jacqui Gerlach (12 kills) and Sherene Lemonias (10 kills). The Dukes fell to 10-5 overall and 1-1 in the Atlantic 10.
Temple returns home on Friday, September 29 to face Dayton followed by a match on Saturday, September 30 against Xavier.
