TEMPLE TOPS DUQUESNE

10.29.01 | Women's Volleyball

Pittsburgh, Pa. -- The Temple volleyball team (15-7, 7-4) got back on the winning track by beating Duquesne (14-7, 6-5) three games to one in a key Atlantic 10 Conference match. The game scores were 30-23, 33-31, 24-30 and 31-29 in favor of the visiting Owls who posted a 2-2 record in their four-game road stretch.

Sophomore Shu Liu led the Temple attack with 22 kills and 16 digs in the tightly contested match.

Fellow sophomores Yun Xu (14 kills, 17 digs) and Yamit Haba (12 kills, 14 digs) also posted double-doubles for the Owls. Junior setter Solana Lee dished out 52 assists for the Cherry and White.

Sherene Lemonias led Duquesne with 25 kills and 16 digs. Sarah Morrow (15 kills, 14 digs) and Brooke Saunders (15 kills, 13 digs) were also impressive for the Dukes.

Next up for Temple a home match against Villanova on Tuesday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m.
