WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL UPSETS TOP SEED DAYTON 3-1 IN FIRST ROUND OF ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Dayton, Ohio-The Temple University women's volleyball team upset top seed Dayton University in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championships three games to one to advance to the championship round of the tournament. The game scores were 29-31, 30-27, 30-23, 31-29.

The Owls were led by all-conference selections Yun Xu with 24 kills and 18 blocks and Yamit Haba with 14 kills and 16 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Charity Hill played a pivotal role in today's match posting 13 kills and six blocks. Setter Solana Lee contributed 59 assists, four kills and four digs.

If Temple wins the conference championship match, it will be the fourth conference title in five years for the team. The Owls will face either 2 Xavier or 3 Rhode Island in the championship match tomorrow, November 18, 2001 in Dayton, Ohio. Game time is at 1:00 p.m.
