WOMEN'S VOLLYBALL FALLS TO XAVIER IN A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Dayton, Ohio--The Temple women's volleyball team fell to #2 Xavier 3-0 in the championship round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament in Dayton, Ohio today, November 18, 2001. The game scores were 30-26, 30-24 and 30-27.

The Owls were led by sophomores Yun Xu with 14 kills and eight digs and Margaret Majewska with 12 kills and one dig. Sara Stone contributed 10 digs while Charity Hill posted eight kills and three digs. Setter Solana Lee had 48 assists in the game. Both Charity Hill and Yun Xu were named to the All Championship Team after the game today.

Xavier dominated play in all three games and were led by A-10 Player of the Year Sara Bachus with 13 kills and 11 digs. A-10 Rookie of the Year Molly Martin had 44 assists. Blocking was the name of the game for Xavier who had 16 team blocks in the game.

The Owls have one remaining home match against American University on November 24, 2001. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
