OWLS END VOLLEYBALL SEASON ON A WINNING NOTE

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple (22-10, 10-6 A-10) ended the season with a win against American University (26-3, 14-0 Patriot) on Saturday, November 24, at McGonigle Hall. The game scores were 30-22, 30-32, 30-23, and 30-18 for the Owls who out-hit the Eagles .387 to .143.

Sophomore Yamit Haba led the team with 23 kills and 11 digs. Fellow sophomores Yun Xu (15 kills, 10 digs) and Shu Liu (10 kill, seven digs) contributed for the Owls. Freshman setter Allison Runk had 34 assists for Temple. Temple's lone senior Christine Happel added five blocks in her career finale.

Karla Kucerkova led American University with 21 kills and 12 digs. Freshman Sabrina Vasconcelos posted 30 assists for the Eagles.

At 22-10, the Owls are a long shot for an at-large NCAA tournament bid but anything can happen on volleyball's version of Selection Sunday. Temple is officially on the bubble.
