MUSKETEERS SHOOT DOWN OWLS

11.3.01 | Women's Volleyball

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team (16-9, 7-6) lost to Atlantic 10 Conference rival Xavier (19-4, 12-1) three games to one on Saturday, November 3 at the Liacouras Center. The game scores were 30-20, 30-32, 30-23 and 33-31 for the Musketeers, who are second in the conference. Xavier out-hit the Owls .337 to .195.

Sophomores Shu Liu (20 kills, seven digs) and Yamit Haba (19 kills, 16 digs) led the Temple attack. Fellow sophomore Yun Xu added 16 kills and 18 digs. For the second night in a row, the Owls lost to an Atlantic 10 conference leader.

Sara Bachus led Xavier with 25 kills and 11 digs. Jill Hampton (18 kills, 21 digs) and Amanda Lang (12 kills and 16 digs) contributed to the win for the Musketeers.

The Owls play their next game on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at McGonigle Hall.
