Women's Fencing Goes Undefeated for Second Straight Weekend

PHILADELPHIA, PA (Feb. 7) - The Temple women's fencing team went undefeated for the

second straight weekend when they beat Hollins University 27-0, Johns Hopkins

22-5 and Steven's Institute of Technology 26-1 on Saturday, February 3. Eight

Owls were also unbeaten in their individual bouts.

The Entire foil squad including Jaime Beecher, Gina DeIeso, Maggie Castellano,

and Stefanie Izzolino were undefeated on Saturday as well as teammates Aziza

Hassan (Sabre), Sakinah Shaahid (Sabre), Stephanie Sargent (Epee) and Julia

Korony (Epee).

The Owls are 16-1 so far this season. Coming up on February 11, the Owls face

Penn and Princeton at the University of Pennsylvania at 10:00 a.m.
