Owls Baseball Opens West Coast Road Trip

Skip Wilson's club opened their west coast road trip by losing a
doubleheader to the University of California Santa Barbara.
GAME # 7 - MARCH 3, 2001
In the first game of their west coast trip, the University of California
Santa Barbara erupted for four runs with two outs capping a six-run third,
sending the Owls to their seventh consecutive loss of the young season.
Senior Greg Powell (0-3) took the loss, while Mike Jenkins had three hits for
the Owls.

GAME # 8 - MARCH 3, 2001
In the second game of the doubleheader, the Owls were once again done in
by the big inning, this one a five-run fifth, as Skip Wilson's club dropped
their eighth straight by a score of 10-4 to the University of California
Santa Barbara. Sophomore Alan Birnbrauer (0-2) took the loss, while Kyle
Sweppenhiser had three hits and senior Chris Krusen chipped in with two. For
the doubleheader, Krusen went 3 for 8.
