Baseball Game Switched; Owls Fall To Cal Poly
3.7.01 | Baseball
The Temple Owls and Cal Poly were able to move their baseball game to city
owned stadium, San Luis Obispo, and dodged the raindrops as the Owls lost
(0-9) for the third time on their west coast trip to Cal Poly (9-5) by a score
of 8-3.
Earlier in the day, it looked like the Owls were going to be rained out for
the third consecutive day, but a switch to city owned stadium, San Luis
Obispo, allowed Temple and Cal Poly to get in the first game of their series.
The game was originally scheduled at Baggett Stadium, but poor field
conditions made the move to the city owned stadium necessary.
The Owls took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning, but a three-run
second followed by a two-run third were too much for the Owls to overcome.
Senior Chris Krusen led the Owls with two of the Temple nine hits while
Mustang Phil Thompson homered and knocked in three runs.
Sophomore Mike Caron (0-3) was the loser for the Owls (0-9), while Jared
Blasdell (2-1) got the win for the Mustangs.
The Owls and Mustangs will attempt to play a doubleheader at San Luis
Obispo Stadium on Wednesday, March 7th beginning at 2:30 PM.
