Filler Sets Career At-Bat Record

Senior centerfielder Bob Filler, from Engineering & Science High School in

Philadelphia, chasing a number of Temple records, broke Tom Whalen's career

at-bat mark of 657. By grounding out in the fifth inning of Temple's 16-1

victory over Rhode Island, Filler recorded his 658th career at-bat. He now

has 660 official career at-bats. Bob is also just six games shy of breaking

Bob Christy's career mark of most games played in an Owl uniform. Christy

played in 187 games during his career that spanned from 1987-90.
