Bob Filler Ties Career Hit Mark

Senior centerfielder Bob Filler tied Tom Whalen's career hit mark at

Temple University when he singled on Saturday in Temple's 11-7 season finale

win over St. Bonaventure. Both individuals now have 228 career hits.

Previously, Bob has broken three other records this year. He broke the

career at-bat record against Rhode Island on April 1st against Rhode Island,

followed that up on April 5th, when he broke the career singles record

against Drexel and played in his 188th game on April 10th at Delaware

breaking Bob Christy's record of 187 games, which he held since 1990.

Bob will attempt to break the career hit mark on Thursday, May 17th,

when the Owls take on Dayton in the first game of their 2001 Atlantic 10

Baseball Championshp. First pitch is set for 7:30 pm.
