VOLLEYBALL PRESEASON INCLUDES A TOUR OF CHINA

8.13.01 | Women's Volleyball

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team began a two-week odyssey to China as part of its preseason schedule. The Owls arrive at Beijing International Airport on August 13 and will travel the country playing and visiting places of interest. The team will visit the Great Wall of China, Tianamen Square, The Royal Palace of the Forbidden City and Shanghai. The Owls will play against the Red Army, Nankai University, Tianjin Volleyball Club and Shanghai. Along the way, the team will visit the birthplace of Temple assistant coach Yi Qing Weng and dine on authentic Chinese cuisine. The Owls return to American soil on Sunday, August 26, just in time to begin Fall semester classes the following day. The team will begin the regular season on Saturday, September 1, at the West Virginia Invitational in Morgantown, W. Va.
