TEMPLE VOLLEYBALL SPLITS MATCHES ON DAY ONE OF THE WEST VIRGINIA INVITATIONAL

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- The Temple volleyball team (1-1) opened the season with a win over Wagner three games to none and a loss to Missouri zero games to three at the West Virginia Invitational. The game scores against Wagner were 30-17, 30-14 and 30-18 while the scores against Missouri were 19-30, 27-30 and 23-30.
The Owls were led by junior outside hitter Sara Stone who had 23 kills over the two matches. Stone recorded 11 kills against Wagner and tallied 12 kills against Missouri. Sophomore outside hitter Yamit Haba, the 2000 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, recorded 19 kills in the two matches with eight kills against Wagner and 11 kills against Missouri.
Next up for Temple is day two of the West Virginia Invitational which will include a match against the host Mountaineers in the finale of the tournament. The Owls return home next weekend to host the Temple Invitational.
