TEMPLE SWEEPS UMASS, EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO SEVEN MATCHES

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team (9-2, 2-0) extended its match win streak to seven by defeating Massachusetts (6-3,1-1) three games to none on September 22 at McGonigle Hall. The game scores were 30-25, 30-25 and 30-24 for the home team.

The Owls had a balanced attack and were led by sophomores Yamit Habba (11 kills, nine digs), Margaret Majewska (11 kills, five digs), Shu Liu (10 kills, 11 digs) and Yun Xu (10 kills, seven digs). Junior Solana Lee dished out 38 assists and had 13 digs for Temple.

Lauren Vander Veen led the Minutewomen with 12 kills and setter Jitka Stehnova had 22 assists for the visiting team.

Next up for the Owls a road match against cross-town rival La Salle, Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m.
