TEMPLE VOLLEYBALL TOPS HOST TEAM IN FINALE OF THE WEST VIRGINIA INVITATIONAL

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- The Temple volleyball team (2-2) finished its road trip on a positive note as it defeated the host Mountaineers (1-3) three games to one in the final match of the West Virginia Invitational Sunday night. The Owls rebounded from a tough loss earlier in the day to Akron, three games to two to win the tournament finale. Temple took the first game 30-21, stumbled in the second game 28-30 before taking the last two sets of the match.

Junior outside hitter Sara Stone continued her stellar play and earned all-tournament honors. Sophomores Yamit Haba and Margaret Majewska also played big for the Owls. Defensively, Temple tied for the tournament high with 24 blocks.

Next up for the Owls a trip home to host the Temple Invitational, Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8 at McGonigle Hall.
