DAVIS LEADS TEMPLE WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS TO SEASON-OPENING WIN OVER URSINUS

PHILADELPHIA -- True freshman Erin Davis (Newark, Del./St. Mark's H.S.) won the all-around in her first collegiate competition to lead Temple to a season opening win over Ursinus in a dual meet at McGonigle Hall. Temple posted a final team score of 183.775 and Ursinus tallied a final team total of 176.875.

Davis posted a 9.250 on vault, 9.400 on bars, 9.550 on beam and 9.050 on floor exercise en route to an all-around total of 37.250.

Senior Cicely Warrington (36.975), sophomore Paige Ozaroski (36.225) and senior Maggie Tolerico (35.750) also posted strong all-around totals for the Owls. Warrington earned the highest event score of the meet with a 9.625 on floor exercise.

Temple swept all four events. Individually, junior Andrea McGary won the vault (9.400), junior Brynne Hillman won bars (9.450) and both Davis and Warrington posted a meet-best 9.550 on beam.

For Ursinus, senior Jumaah Johnson posted a team-best all-around score of 35.500.
