TEMPLE VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS GEORGE WASHINGTON 3-1 FOR 14TH STRAIGHT WIN

PHILADELPHIA -- In front of a record crowd at McGonigle Hall tonight, November 8, the Temple Women's Volleyball Team (21-5, 11-0 A-10) defeated the George Washington Colonials three games to one to secure their fourteenth straight win and remain unbeaten in conference play. The game scores were 23-30, 30-11, 34-32, and 30-22.
Junior outside hitter Xu Yun led the way for the Owls with yet another double-double scoring night with 18 kills and 17 digs. Outside hitter Yamit Haba also scored in double figures with 13 kills and 14 digs while Liu Shu contributed 15 kills and 20 digs. Setter Alison Runk had 44 assists.
Outside hitter Sarah Hokum led the way for George Washington (15-11, 6-5 A-10) with 14 kills and 11 digs while Katie Downey posted 11 kills and five digs. Setter Lauren Dunning tallied 36 assists.
The Cherry and White are back in action tomorrow afternoon, November 9 when they take on Duquesne at McGonigle Hall at 4:00 p.m. The Owls will honor their departing seniors before the match.
