MEN'S INDOOR TRACK PLACES SIXTH AT ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIPS

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University men's indoor track and field team finished in sixth place at the Atlantic 10 Championships held at the University of Rhode Island this past weekend, February 15 and 16, 2002.

Freshman sprinter Andrew Sterling dashed to a third place finish in the 55 meters with a time of 6.51 and an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.82. Sophomore Bryant Adams ran to a sixth place finish in the 200 meter with a time of 22.78 and placed fifth overall in the 500 meters with a time of 1:05.47. In the 400 meter dash, freshman Dale

Letter lough finished fifth with a time of 50.30.

Freshman Jonathon Albright led in the jumping events after bringing home a second place finish in the 55m hurdles with a time of 7.81. Sophomore Dwayne Shaw finished third in the long jump with a mark of 21'08 3/4" and fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 43'03 3/4". Also competing in the triple jump was sophomore Craig Henry who finished sixth with a mark of 42'08".

Rounding out the individual competition was sophomore Kevin Kelly with a 13'03 1/2" mark in the polew vault.

In the team events, the Owls finished fourth in the 4X400 with a time of 3:22.34.
