TEMPLE BASEBALL READY TO DELIVER THE FIRST PITCH OF THE 2002 SEASON

The 2002 Temple Baseball Squad opens the 2002 season on Saturday when they take on Vanderbilt down in Orlando, Florida. The Owls will play 11 games in nine days, with two of the games set against the Philadelphia Phillies Rookies.

Skip Wilson will open with Matt Powell against the Commodores. The junior righthander from Holland, Pennsylvania, was used strictly in relief last year and posted a 2-3 record with a 5.74 earned run average.

Following the game Saturday, the Owls will play a doubleheader on Sunday, opening up against Siena at 11:00 am and then taking on Central Florida at 2:00 pm.
